God’s GOT you.
I’m just feeling the nudge to send you something short today, to remind you of one important truth:
Whatever you’re going through, God’s GOT you.
I’ve been thinking about this a bit lately, as I’ve navigated various tensions I wish I was immune to, but am not.
Things like…
Unanswered messages
Disappointing decisions
Unexpected flutters of fear that seem to come out of nowhere…
In moments of tension like these — those fraught spaces in which we acutely feel the fragility of our hearts — we get to choose what we will AGREE with: fear or hope.
Pulling from my list above… We can FEAR that unanswered messages = we’re not wanted. But we can HOPE in the truth that even if we are rejected by someone, we are still and always loved by the One who made us and will never leave us (Deut. 31:8).
We can FEAR that a disappointing decision will steal our future. But we can HOPE in the truth that God is sovereign and holds our future in His capable hands (Ps. 139:16).
We can FEAR that the triggering feelings will overtake us. But we can HOPE in the truth that we’ve come through hard things before, and that Jesus is WITH us as we take our next steps forward (1 Jn. 4:4).
It also helps to remember the ancient adage, “this too shall pass...”
…today’s unanswered message becomes tomorrow’s “Shoot, I missed your note!”The “no” we feared hearing frees us to embrace a better “yes”. And the flutters come and go, as they will, and we are still us, our hearts still held by the Father.
And we remember:
Whatever I’m going through, God’s GOT me.
Because truly, He does.
