There’s a big difference between being known and LIVING known.

It’s kind of like this picture…

A woman standing in front of a green background, wearing a beige blazer, light blue jeans, and a white cap with the word "KNOWN" on it.

When cropped in (top pic), things looks neat and clean. I’m drawing your eye to the strength of my stance, making myself the central focus, and removing visual noise that detracts from what I want you to notice. In this top image I could come across as prideful or confident, depending on your perspective (which I can’t control).

If I zoom out (bottom pic), you see more of what’s happening in the background… the supports holding the backdrop… the stuff that doesn’t belong in the picture but is part of the room it was shot in… I look less impressive because there’s more going on around me to distract your eye. On the other hand, I could also be hiding a little, careful not to make things “all about me.”

In life, and especially in ministry, most of us have gotten pretty good at cropping out the parts of our lives we don’t want people to notice—the loneliness we feel, the mistakes we’ve made, our fears and emotions. We’re also adept at diminishing ourselves when necessary…

But what if walking in Jesus’ calling for your life doesn’t have to require living like a “chameleon” when you’re on or off the stage? And what if you could continue developing your creative and ministry gifts while feeling known and supported by others who are on a similar journey?

My liveKNOWN and True Sisterhood cohorts provide a safe, confidential space for you grow in your creativity while experimenting with letting others get to know the parts of you that you’ve been cropping out, so you have the support you need as you lean into what God has next for you, and so you can practice BEING that support for others, too.
