I feel a little self-indulgent writing an update post, but since I’ve been quiet for a bit, I figured you might be curious about what’s been happening behind the scenes. So here goes…
Back in April, I was sitting at a conference I’ve had the privilege of speaking at a few times here in Nashville. Each year at this event, the Lord has spoken something new and specific to my heart. This time, as I watched one of my coaching clients bring an entire auditorium to tears (in a good way), I sensed clearly that Jesus was asking me to let go of some things in order to better steward the experience, skills and voice he’s given me in this season.
If you’ve ever felt the push/pull between the comfort of sticking with what you know and the nervous excitement of leaning into uncharted territory, that’s what I’m talking about here…
Throughout the summer months I gave myself permission to dream in some new directions, and to let go of things that are worthwhile but not the best use of my gifts. Instead of taking on branding & design projects, for example, I have found myself leaning more into singing, songwriting, worship, coaching, mentoring and community building.
One example of this was the launch of True Sisterhood. Our 2026/2027 cohort began in June with seven incredible women, and has been a beautiful opportunity to collaborate with my dear and extraordinarily gifted friends Allison Allen and Eva Bleeker. Here’s a fun pic we took last May:
Later this summer, my husband and I also had our first out-of-state “gig” of what we call Sanctuaire Listening Worship - an immersive music ministry we’ve been doing since COVID. We have two more events before the year is out and are anticipating doing many more of these in the future. And there are some other fun ideas brewing too…
Four days ago I clicked “publish” on this brand new website. More than a simple refresh of colors and design, it has helped me visualize, communicate and embrace where God is leading me in this new chapter. I’m so glad I get to share that with you now.
Next week I will turn fifty-five. As old as that may sound for some of us, in other ways it feels like I’m just getting started. After nearly three decades in ministry, things are clicking in unprecedented ways, due in no small part to the community I now walk in. I want that same level of purpose, synergy and belonging for YOU.
So if you’re new here, welcome. And if you’ve been here for awhile, thanks for sticking around. I’ll bet Jesus is stirring some new things in YOU too. Because that’s what he often does…
Wherever you find yourself in your own creative journey, taking time to be intentional about how your time, talent and treasure are being stewarded is always worthwhile.
In the months to come, I hope to resume a more regular posting rhythm, sharing what I’m learning and letting you know new strategies and opportunities to grow in your own creativity and ministry.
In the meantime, here’s to living KNOWN, and to using our TRUE voices in whatever way Jesus leads. It’s not always easy, but it is definitely fulfilling.
